Wet Coconut Chutney for Appam

coconut chutney

Wet Coconut Chutney for Appam – Coconut oil is one of the few foods that has been classified as “Super Foods”. Research shows that Coconut has a lot of benefits and so does coconut oil. Some research says that Coconut oil is good for heart and yet others say that it helps prevent obesity. All of this makes it one essential part of your food habits.

Once of the reasons I like Dosa, Idli and Appam is because of the tasty Coconut chutney it is served with. The flavor of coconut gives it a nice aroma and taste that adds to anything that it is served with. While there are many different varieties of coconut chutneys, I like the dry chutney the most. This dry chutney is what is normally served with Appam. But a lot of people like the wet chutney as well.

The difference in each of these could be just the addition of tamarind or, chilly powder instead of green chillies, or, tempering. But the taste of the chutney changes drastically with each of these.

This chutney that I am going to show you today, is a variety of wet chutney. It is simple, easy and goes well with Idli and Dosa too. The only thing that you need to keep in mind is that you shouldn’t add too much of water to it, which we will see in the recipe.

Let us now take a look at the recipe..
