A democracy is dependent on elections and it is the right of every citizen to exercise his right to vote. And when it comes to candidates, there could be some good candidates and some bad.

A lot of times, I see a lot of people simply refraining from voting just because they don’t feel like voting for any of the candidates.

And if the choice is to pick the best out of the worst, you still need to do it just so that you stop the worst out of the worst from coming to power.

South Indian Coconut Chutney Recipe For Masala Dosa and Idli

Coconut chutney recipe is one of the tasty recipe served along with almost all kind of South Indian Recipes like idli, dosa, masala dosa, pongal, rava kichadi, vada etc.

While there are many variations of preparing coconut chutney, this is the simplest method.

I know that most of the people would know the method of making this chutney especially the people from South India.

But those who are bachelor’s and from North India might not be aware of how it is made. So this recipe is especially for all those people.

So if you have grated coconut ready on hand, then it takes just a minute to prepare the coconut chutney, which makes it a popular accompaniment for breakfast.

South Indian Coconut Chutney Recipe For Masala Dosa and Idli

South Indian Coconut Chutney is a must-have accompaniment for south Indian dishes like dosa idli and vada. It is a simple recipe made out of coconut and has all the goodness and health benefits of coconut.

  • 2 cups Grated Coconut
  • 4 tbsp Fried Gram Dal
  • 4 nos Green Chilli
  • 6 nos Small Onion
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Water (as per requirement)

To Temper:

  • 2 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 2 tsp Urad Dal
  • 2 nos Dry Red Chilli
  • 12 nos Curry Leaves
  • 4 tsp Oil
  1. Grind coconut along with chili, fried gram dal, green chili, small onion, salt and little water.
  2. If you want you can add water after grinding to make it lose or thick chutney as per your preference.
  3. Now heat oil in a small pan.
  4. Once the oil is hot add mustard seeds to it.
  5. Once the seeds start spluttering add curry leaves, whole red chili and urad dal.
  6. Fry till the curry leaves become crisp and the red chili changes color.
  7. Switch off the flame and immediately pour the tempering on the coconut chutney.
  8. Mix everything well.
  9. Serve coconut chutney along with idli, dosa, masala dosa, vada, upma or pongal.
