Rajma Masala Recipe

I remember being taught at school that “man is a social animal”. I am sure you too would have studied so.

But somewhere in our busy schedules and busy lives, we have forgotten being social. At least I felt that I had stopped being social until about a week back.

Then we moved into this apartment and just as it happens in most apartments, there was a lot of social gatherings that we went into, unwillingly at the beginning but willingly, a little later.

In fact, after I spent some time with my new found friends, I realized that the quote “birds of the same feather flock together” is actually true.

I found that I was so similar to all of those friends in more ways than one.

I felt that I was slowly becoming social again.

And I realized how relaxing it could be, in more than one instances.

Whenever I am stressed or, bogged down with work, spending an hour with this group of mine relaxes me and I feel fresh all over again.

Some discussions are very interesting. At times I find answers to questions that I am stuck with and at certain other times, I find the much-needed motivation, by merely spending a few minutes with them.

And there are such instances where I laugh along with the group like I didn’t in weeks.

No wonder we are called as social animals. If you take away that “social” from us, we cease to exist.

But we have laxity of time today to be social. And probably that is what has helped Mark Zuckerberg build his empire on.

Rajma Masala is an instant one pot meal or pressure cooker recipe, where everything goes into one pot and pressure cooked along with onion tomato gravy and some Indian Spices. You can make this recipe in an electric cooker or even in stove top pressure cooker.

Rajma Masala Recipe is a very interesting recipe which most of the North Indians loves to eat along with hot steamed rice or jeera rice. A plateful of rice topped with some rajma curry and few slices of onion is my all time favorite food.

Red Kidney Beans are high in fiber and rich in so many vitamins , minerals like phosphorus , copper, iron ,folate ,Vitamin K1 and so on.

  12. Simmer rajma for 1 minute and then switch off the stove.
  13. Rajma is ready to be served.
  14. Serve hot along with rice, roti or paratha.

Always prefer soaking kidney beans in enough water for about 8-10 hours or overnight.

Discard the water and use fresh water to cook.

Since the red kidney beans has toxins so always ensure that you cook kidney beans properly or else it may lead to stomach upset. Red kidney beans shouldn’t be consumed raw.
