Mango Choco-Pie Instant Pudding

It was a Saturday night. We usually have this habit of sleeping late on Weekends. And our daughter has also taken to that schedule. We never discouraged her from sleeping late on the weekends, because that gave us some additional time that we could spend with her. Otherwise, the entire week is a hustle to and from school and most of the time goes in studies.

So, it was one such Saturday night and me and my daughter was spending some time building blocks houses. It was around 10:30 PM and all of a sudden she stops midway building her blocks and looks at me. Then in a soft tone, she says, “Mamma, you know what. I feel like eating ice-cream right now”.

And when a 6 year old looks at you and says that the way she said, you will feel like going out to the market right then and getting her whatever she wants. I too, felt the same.

But, I had no way to get her an ice-cream.

And that’s when she said again, as if she knew what was going through my mind, “No problems Mamma. You can give me a couple of Choco-pie biscuits”.

That statement of hers stuck me. And and idea flashed. Why not make a quick something with Choco-pie?

That was where this pudding was born.

It’s a simple recipe that takes around 2-3 hours including the freezer time and tastes absolutely amazing.

I added mangoes because this season is where we get a lot of mangoes in here. And mangoes neutralizes the overly chocolate taste that this pudding would otherwise have.

There was another reason as well, for adding mangoes. My daughter doesn’t eat mangoes at all. But she likes mango shakes and hence I prefer giving mangoes to her in the form of shakes.

In this pudding as well, all I wanted was to ensure that she consumes mangoes. Hence I added mangoes to it and it came out really nice. So let’s check out the video here…..
